beginnings in 1972 when Dr. Anthony M.
Marlon established a private medical
practice in Las Vegas, Nevada. He
founded Health Plan of Nevada, the
state's first health maintenance
organization. Today, what was once Dr.
Marlon's private practice is now
Southwest Medical Associates, Nevada's
largest multi-specialty medical group.
Health Plan of Nevada has grown to be
Nevada's largest HMO.
Sierra was acquired by UnitedHealth
Group on February 25, 2008. UnitedHealth
